Dupuis Esquire and 41 others praying for the improvement of
Johnston Street from Garden Street Westward _ Referred to the
Committee on Streets

Ald. Dunlop brought up the petition of James Richmond and 15 others asking to have Union Street watered. Referred to the Committee on Streets.

Ald: Minnes brought up the petition of Thomas Merritt
Fishery officer Kingston asking a slight remuneration for
services _ Referred to the Finance Committee

Ald: Redden brought up the petition of Messrs
Haines and Lockett and eleven others asking the Council to
pass a By Law requiring all Boot and Shoe shops in the City
of Kingston closed on Work days, Saturday excepted, at seven
O'Clock P.M.

Ald: Gildersleeve from the Committee on Finance
and Accounts brought up a Report (Number 526 Book F)
which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets and
Improvements brought up a Report (Number 527 Book F)
which was read and adopted.

The Chairman introduced a Report of the City
Engineer Re Alfred Street drain local improvement which
was read

The Chairman from the Committee on Water
Works brought up a Report (Number 528 Book F)
which was read

Ald: Gildersleeve moves seconded by Ald: Polson
that the report of the Committee on Water Works
be received and adopted.

In Amendment
Ald: Swift moves seconded by Ald: W. Robinson
that the Council accept the lowest tenders for
building the Vault providing good and ample security be
furnished. which being put was lost _
