A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day, Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Adams, Dunlop, Fenwick, Gaskin, Gildersleeve
Harty, Hiscock, Minnes, Muckleston, McIntyre
Polson, Redden, W. Robinson, Shannon, Swift
Wilmot

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting
Communications were read as follows: _

From the Kingston Humane Society asking that carters
and draymen be compelled to have rest poles affixed to
shafts of vehicles _ Referred to the Police Commisioners

From A. Gunn and others Taxes _ Referred to the
Court of Revision

From C. R. Dickson _ Re Pipe Organ in City Hall _ Referred
to the Committee on City Property.

From C.A Counter asking for a remission of rent paid
for Hall and not occupied by him _ Referred to the Committee
on City Property.

Ald. Gaskin brought up the petition of Mrs U Thurston
and 21 others calling the attention of the Council to the stone fence
and shed on Barrack Street as a public nuisance and unsafe
to the neighbourhood _ Referred to the Committee on Streets to act in case of danger

Ald:Gaskin brought up the petition of Thomas T.
Miller and 9 others asking for a sewer to be constructed
in Magdalen Street from John Doolans Crossing to the
centre of Picard Street to connect with main drain under
local improvements acts _ Referred to the Committee on Streets _

Ald: Adams brought up the petition of A Keys and others against early closing

Ald. Hiscock brought up the petition of William
Robinson asking for a lease of twenty five feet of the
property ajoining his at the foot of O'Kill Street at the
rate of one dollar per foot frontage _ Referred to the
Committee on City Property.

Ald: Hiscock brought up the petition of A. Gunn
and 5 others asking for a sewer in the centre of Stuart Street
from the centre of Saint Lawerence Avenue to the centre of
Albert Street [thence?] along the centre of Albert Street to the Lake
Referred to the Committee on Streets [?]

Ald: Polson brought up the petition of C. Livingston and
Brothers and others asking for the passage of a By Law for
early closing in their trades.

Ald: Harty from the Committee on Finance
and accounts brought up a Report (Number 529 Book F)
