the report of this date as herein mentioned the following be
subsituted _ "Your Committee recommend _ that neither
of the tenders mentioned be accepted and that in view of
the fact that the City Engineers estimates show that the
work of laying the pipes of the City Water Works can be
laid cheaper under his superintendence by days labor _ Your
Committee recommend that they be so laid.

In Amendment 3rd
Ald: Gildersleeve moves seconded by Ald: Redden
that the report of the Water Works Committee be
amended by subsituting the words "four acres of land of
Mrs Sessions "in Lieu of the words 2 1/3 acres of land of Mrs
Sessions _ Which being put was lost _ the second
amendment being also put was lost.

The original motion adopting Report was carried [Underline]
Ald: Wilmot introduced a By Law to authorize the construction
of a common sewer in a part of Alfred Street, in the City of Kingston
as a local improvement under the provisions of "The Municipal Act"
in that behalf which was read a first time

The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went into
Committee of the whole on the second reading.

Ald: Wilson in the Chair
The Council resumed
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause in Committee _ The Report
was received
The By Law was read a third time and passed
On Motion the Council adjourned
