A Special Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the
City of Kingston was held this day. Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Adams, Fenwick, Gildersleeve, Harty, Hiscock, Miller
Minnes, Polson, Redden, C. Robinson, Swift, Wilmot

The Mayor stated the Meeting was called to submit a
By Law to authorise the Construction of a common sewer on
Earl Street under local improvement Act and to appoint
a Committee to receive his Excellency the Governor General
Lord Stanley on his approaching visit to the City.

Ald: Wilmot inroduced a By Law to authorise the
construction of a Common Sewer on Earl Street in the City of
Kingston as a local improvement under the provisions of the
Municpal Act in that behalf _ which was read a first time

Ald: Wilmot introduced a Report from the City Engineer
Re Earl Street sewer which was read _
The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went
into Committee of the whole on the second reading

Ald: Polson in the Chair
The Council resumed
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause _ The Report was
received_
The By Law was read a third and passed _ and
was sealed and signed by the Mayor

Ald: Minnes here left the Council Chambers
On Motion of Ald: Wilmot seconded by Ald: Adams
Ordered, that the City purchase from Mrs Mayhew
for the sum of One Hundred and Fifty dollars $150.00 (she
to remove fences at her own expense) the piece of land neccesary
to produce Pine Street westward across said Mrs Mayhews property
from York Street to the Easterly line of the Ordnance plot.

Ald: Hiscock brought up the petition of J McKelvey and
and six other property owners on Young Street Victoria Ward asking
for the Construction of a sewer through said street to be built under
the
