Referred to the Committee on City Property

Ald: Muckleston from the Committe on Finance
and Accounts brought up two Reports (Numbers 545
and 546 Book F) which were read received and adopted.

On Motion of Ald: Fenwick seconded by Ald: Wilson
Ordered, that in the opinion of this Council it is
desirable that a plan so as is known of the entire system
of drains, Water pipes and to provide against the Contingency
of its total lots a copy of the same be made and deposited for
safe keeping in the Registry or such other vault as the Council
may direct and that the Committee on Streets be instructed
to report on cost of same to this Council as soon as possible

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property
brought up a Report (Number 547 Book F) which was
read received and adopted.

On Motion of Ald: Fenwick seconded by Ald.Hiscock
Ordered, that the City Property Committee report on the
Conditions and saftey of the City Vaults

The Chairman from the Committee on Water Works
brought up two Reports (Numbers 548 and 549 Book F)
which were read received and adopted

On Motion of Ald: McIntyre seconded by Ald: Gildersleeve
Ordered, that the Council of the Corporation of Kingston
desire to place on record our appreciation of the profound
indebtness under which the Citizens of Kingston have been
placed by the generous hospitality extended by I. B. Carruthers
Esquire to their Excellences the Governor General and to Lady
Stanley of Preston on the occasion of their recent visit to Kingston
that as the presence of their Excellences was in response to an
invitation from this Council our obligations are the more marked
that a private gentleman should have so courteously intervened
and Rendered the Reception of our distinguished visitors so
interesting an event in the History of our City _ and that His
Worship the Mayor be requested to present an engrossed Copy
of this resolution to Mr Carruthers

Ald: Hiscock introduced a By Law to authorise the
construction of a common sewer in a part of Young Street in
the City of Kingston as a local improvement under the provisions
of the Municipal Act in that behalf _ which was read a first
time

A Report from the City Engineer was read Re Construction
of a common sewer on Young Street.

The 30th Rule of Council was suspended and the Council
went into Committee of the whole on the second reading

the Council resumed
the Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause _ The Report was
received. The By Law was read a third time and passed
and was signed and sealed.
