Court of Revision

Ald: Gaskin brought up the petition of McEwen
and Son_ Re exemption from taxation _ Referred to the
Finance Committee.

Ald: McIntyre brought up the petition of Charles
Livingston and five others asking for the Construction of a sewer
in Princess Street from the Westerly limit of Gordon Street.
Referred to the Committee on Streets

Ald: Harty from the Committee on Finance and
accounts brought up two Reports (Numbers 550 & 551 Book F)
which was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets and
Improvements brought up a Report (Number 552 Book F)
which was read.

Also submitted Report of Isaac Newlands Re Valuation
of property Regiopolis College Lands which was read
On Motion of Ald: Wilmot seconded by Ald: Muckleston
Ordered that the Report on Streets and Improvements
be received and adopted.

On Motion of Ald: Fenwick seconded by Ald: Harty
Ordered, that the Board of Health be and are
respectfully requested to investigate into the health of the City
and to Report to the Council the actual Condition of same, with
a certified Copy of the Number of Typhoid fever cases known
to exist in the months of August and September; Also to
ascertain the cause of the late pernicious report so widely spread throughout the Province as to the prevalence of Typhoid fever and
that the Council express its approval of the prompt measures taken
by the Mayor to deny a rumour as untrue as it is Malicious

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property brought
up a Report (Number 553 Book F) which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Markets brought up a Report (Number 554 Book F) which was read and adopted.

Ald: Fenwick gives notice that he will at the next Meeting
of the Council introduce a By Law to establish a Harbor line
for the City of Kingston _ and this notice to be taken as the
first reading of the By Law

The Chairman from the Committee on Printing brought
up a Report (Number 555 Book F) which was read and
adopted

On Motion of Ald: Gildersleeve seconded by Ald: McIntyre
Ordered, that the Railway Committee of the Council
be empowered to act in relation to the proposed meeting of Municipal
Delegates at Smith Falls to arrange the respective amounts of
Bonuses to be submitted in the different Municipalities in and
of the Kingston and Smith Falls Railway.

On Motion of Ald: Muckleston seconded by Ald: Minnis
Ordered
