Sundry Communications respecting taxes were
submitted and referred to the Court of Revision.

Ald: Shannon brought up the petition of John
McConville and 248 others from Victoria ward asking
that the Electric Light of the City be continued burning
all night.

Ald: Gaskin here entered
Aldermen Wilmot, Robinson and Miller brought
up similar petitions from Frontenac, Rideau and
Cataraqui wards for the continuance of the Electric
Light during the night _ Referred to the Committee
on Fire, Water and Gas

Ald: Wilmot brought up the petition of William
McCamman and 3 others asking for the construction of a
sewer in Queen Street from William McCammans to Connect
with the sewer on Division Street under the local improvements
Act. Referred to the Committee on Streets

Ald: McIntyre brought up the petition of James
Eves asking to be paid for repairs to Cab and harness caused
by Water Works drain. Referred to the Water Works Committee

Ald: Miller brought up the petition of Andrew
Rankin protesting against the building of a drain on
North end of Bagot Street under local improvements Act

Ald: McIntyre from the Committee on Finance
and accounts brought up (Reports Numbers 556 & 557
Book F) which were read and adopted

Chairman from the Committee on Streets brought up a Report (Number 558 Book F) which was read and adopted.

On Motion of Ald: Swift seconded by Ald: Gaskin
Ordered that Aldermen Fenwick, Muckleston
Gaskin, Gildersleeve and Polson wait upon the Street
Railway Company and learn upon what terms the City
can aquire the property.

Ald: Shannon introduced a By Law to authorise the
Construction of a Common sewer in a part of Stuart and Albert Street - which was read a first time.

A Report from the City Engineer was read Re: construction of a common sewer on Stuart and Albert street.

The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went
into Committee of the whole on the second reading of the
By Law
