On Motion of Ald: Fenwick seconded by Ald: Minnes
Ordered, that owing to the excavation for Water Works
and drain purposes during the year a remission on "Water
Street Tax" equal to the time that Earl and other Streets were
not watered be allowed.

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water and
Light brought up a Report (Numbers 572 Book F) which was
read and adopted

On Motion of Ald: Shannon seconded by Ald: Gildersleeve
Ordered, that the Mayor Aldn McIntyre, Harty
Gilsersleeve and the mover be a Committee to purpose a public
reception to the Revd Principal Grant on his return from
his present town, and that the Committee have power to add to
their number the names of such Citizens as they may think
proper

On Motion of Ald: McIntyre seconded by Ald: Harty
Ordered, that the subject of the Communication of His
Worship the Mayor in referring to the recent interview of the
Grand Trunk officials with him be referred to the Railway
Committee of the Council

On Motion of Ald: Gildersleeve seconded by Ald: McIntyre
Ordered, that Ald. Gaskin be added to the Railway Committee of the Council.

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Fenwick

Ordered that the sum of $25.00 each to the Reporters
of the Whig and News as provided by the Budget be paid

On Motion the Council adjourned

The Mayor stated the Meeting was called to read the Bonus
By Law Re Kingston and Smith Falls Railway and Napanee
Tamworth and Quebec Railway and to appoint Returning and
Deputy Returning officers for Municipal and Public School Trustee
Elections
