By Law intitulated "A By Law respecting the cleaning of
Privies and the removal of night soil _ which was read a
first time

On Motion of Ald: Gildersleeve seconded by Ald: Harty
Ordered, that this Council desires to express its
sympathy with an esteemed Colleague Alderman Miller
who has been prostrated several months with a severe illness
and to express the hope that he may speedily recover and
regain his usual health and customary vigor

On Motion of Ald: Shannon seconded by Ald: Gildersleeve
Ordered, that the sum of Eight Hundred dollars
be paid to the Mayor as his salary for the year 1888, and that
the Council passes a hearty rate of thanks to His Worship
for his Conduct in the Chair

On Motion the Council adjourned
