A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston
was held this day Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Adams, Carson, Cruggan, Drennan, Fenwick, Gaskin
Harty, Hiscock, Minnes, Muckleston, McCammon
McIntyre, McLeod, Rees, C. Robinson, W. Robinson, Shannon
Swift, Wilson
The Clerk read the Minutes of the last Meeting
The Mayor presented to Ex Mayor John Carson his Portrait
in Oil. who then handed over to the Chairman of the Committee on
City Property _
Communications were received and read as follows: _

From Lt Col: Van Straubenzie _ Re Location of Military
Camp _ Referred to the Finance Committee _

From L.L. Phippen Secretary Board of School Trustees
Re selecting site for fire Station and drawing attention to
the School House on Queen Street for that purpose. Referred
to the Committee on Fire, Water, and Light

From Joseph Carrington asking exemption from
Taxes on his Tannery property for 20 years _ Referred to the
Committee on Finance.

From George Thompson, Collector of Taxes _ stating Amount
of Taxes Collected to date _ referred to Finance Committee

Ald: McIntyre brought up the petition of Samuel
Harkness asking for a drain on Johnston Street to be
deepened _ referred to Committee on Streets.

Ald: McLeod brought up the petition of Henry Brown
asking for $4.00 worth of Room paper for room in
City Building _ referred to Committee on City Property

Ald: Minnes brought up the petition of W.R. McRae & Co
Complaining of Crossings from Ontario Rank across
Wellington Street. Referred to the Committee on Streets.

Ald: Shannon brought up the petition of John F.
Taylor and 31 other residents of Arch Street asking for
incadescent electric light _ referred to the Committe on
Fire Water and Light

Ald: Gaskin brought up the petition of Jacob Bajus
and 4 others complaining of flooding of cellars _ Referred
to the Committee on Streets.

Ald: Gaskin brought up the petition of C.D Wagner
and 62 others inhabitants of Enterprise and surrounding
Country Re proposed changes to Connection of the Branch road
between Harrowsmith and Yarker. Referred to the Committee
on Railways

Ald: Gaskin from Leonard Wright Reeve and 64 others
Inhabitants of Tamworth and surrounding Country Re proposed
change of branch road between Harrowsmith and Yarker
