Referred to the Railway Committee_

Ald: Muckleston from the Committee on Finance and
accounts brought up two Reports (Numbers 590 [598?] & 600 Book F)
which were received and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets and
Improvements brought up a Report (Number 601 Book F)
which was read and adopted as Amended by the following
resolution

On Motion of Ald: Robinson seconded by Ald: Cruggan
Ordered, that the report of the Committee on Streets
be amended by requesting the Finance Committee to provide
$7000.00 to enable the Committee on Streets to proceed with the
work on Streets.

The Chairman from the Court of Revision brought up a
Report (Number 602 Book F)
which was read and adopted

Ald: Cruggan Chairman pro:term from the Committee on City Property brought up a Report (Number 603 Book F) which was read.

Ald Cruggan moves seconded by Ald: McLeod
that the report of the Committee on City Property be
received and adopted

In Amendment
Ald: McIntyre moves seconded by Ald: Shannon

That the report of the Committee on City Property be
amended by granting a remission of rent of City Hall at Lecture
of Mr Parkins be permitted _ which being put was lost and
the orginal Motion was [underline] carried [/underline]

Ald: Hiscock Chairman pro:term : On Parks brought up
a Report (Number 604 Book F) which was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Select Committee appointed
to investigate charges against Alderman William Robinson
brought up a Report (Number 605 Book F) which was read

Ald: Muckleston moves seconded by Ald: Shannon

That the report of the Special Committee on Investigation
be received and adopted

In Amendment

Ald: Harty moves seconded by Ald: Fenwick
That the report of the investigation Committee be
amended by adding the following:_
That this Council does not consider it is called
upon to criticise the action of the Council of 1871 which provided
in the Budget of that year for the payment of those who were
acting Police Magistrates _ this Council is further of opinion
that whether the amount so paid was done in a way which
was regular or irregular it was deservedly earned and should
have been paid _ which being put was [underline] carried [/underline] and the
orginal was carried and the Report adopted as amended
