A Special Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day Present

His Worship The Mayor
Aldermen

Adams, Carson, Cruggan, Drennan, Fenwick, Gaskin
Gildersleeve, Harty, Minnes, Muckleston, McCammon
McIntyre, McLeod, Rees, C Robinson, Shannon, Wilson

The Mayor stated the meeting was called to take up regular
business

Communications were read as follows:-

From William G. Anglin Esquire MD. Pres Y.M.C.A. asking
for a remission of the rent of City Hall on the occasion of the Art
Loan Exhibition - Referred to the Committee on City Property

From Messrs Walkem and Walkem asking for compensation on
behalf of Henry Robinson for alleged injuries. - Referred to the
Committee on Streets

From William David asking for a remission of license - There
was no action taken thereon

From George Thompson stating Taxes collected to date as $100,209 01/100
Referred to Finance Committee

From Mrs A. Urquhart Taxes - Referred to the Court of
Revision

Ald. Shannon brought up the petition of Thomas
F Taylor and 15 others asking for a Water pipe to be laid
in upper part of Arch street - Referred to the Water Works
Committee

Ald. Cruggan brought up the petition of W. H.
Godwin on behalf of the 4th Methodist Church for a
remission of the rent of the City Hall - Referred to the
Committee on City Property

Ald. McIntyre brought up the petition of J. Hutcheson
and 15 others asking for a light on Albert street - Referred
to the Committee on Fire Water and Light.

Ald. Minnes brought up the petition of Wm Henry
Hunter and 6 others complaining of depth of drain in
Brock street - Referred to the Committee on Streets.

Ald Minnes brought up the petition of Wm U.
Hunter asking permission to erect a small wooden building
in the American Hotel yard - Referred to the City Commissioner

Ald. Muckleston brought up the petition of William
Power asking the Council for some allowance or compensation
in view of the loss sustained Re. Dry Dock and the benefit
likely to accrue to the City - Referred to the Finance Committee.

Ald. McCammon brought up the petition of
Cornelius Millan and 46 others asking that Barrie street be
opened up from Picard st to Pine street and John street from
Patrick street. Referred to the Committee on Streets

Ald. C. Robinson brought up the petition of J. McIlquham and
