second reading of the By Law for licensing and regulating
Milk Vendors within the City of Kingston and fixing the fee to be
paid for such license and for other purposes

Ald: McIntyre in the Chair
The Council resumed
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second reading
of the By Law clause by clause as amended _ The Report was received
the By Law was read a third time and passed _ and the By Law
was signed and sealed

Ald: Gaskin brought up the petition of E.C. Hill and
9 others asking for the construction of a common sewer in Union Street
from Centre to Alfred Street_ Referred to the Committee on Streets

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets brought
up a Report (Number 608 Book F) which was read before on the
25th instant and again read this day

On Motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald: McCammon
Ordered, that the report of the Committee on Streets be
received and adopted except that part granting the Contract to
McMahon for the tile pipe

Ald: Gaskin introduced a By Law respecting the Kingston
Street Railway and to authorise the extension of the same and
for other purposes _ which was read a first time.

The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went into
Committee of the whole on the second reading.

The Council resumed
the Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause _ The report was received

Ald: Gaskin moves seconded by Ald: Shannon
that the following words be dropped from clause there
namely as respects the said part or extension of the said Railway
hereby authorised _ which being put was [underline]lost [/Underline]

The By Law was read a third time and passed
On Motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald: Shannon
Ordered, that the Agreement between the City and Kingston
Street Railway Company read by the Clerk be executed by the
Mayor and the City Seal attached

On Motion of Ald: Fenwick seconded by Ald: Drennan
Ordered, that Alderman Polson be granted three months leave
of absence from date owing to his Visit to England

On Motion of Ald Gildersleeve seconded by Ald: Minnes
Ordered, that the Committee on Streets report to this Council an
amount if any which the Street Railway Company will pay the Corporation
of the City for keeping the streets in repair inside and for eighteen inches inside the rails or either annually for a period of five years _ also the cost if
any of the repairs necessitated to the track thro the default of the Corporation

On Motion the Council adjourned
