Ald: Muckleston brought up the petition of O.L. Strange
and William McRessie Esquires asking that the board walk
to be made on the South Side of Union Street between King and Wellington be placed in the same position as the old
one and not outside boulevard. and also a petition from
Thomas M K Robertson and 4 others asking that the [Strike Through] Plank Walk
be placed outside outside the [Strike Through] Boulevard on the South side of
Union Street opposite residences. Referred to the Committee
on Streets _

Ald: Gaskin brought up the petition of John L. Whiting
and 4 others asking for the side walk in front of block on West
side of Clergy street between Johnston and William Streets removed
outside of the Boulevard _ they agreeing to pay the expenses

On Motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald: Muckleston
Ordered, that the prayer of the petition of John L. Whiting
and others be granted _ the same to be done under the supervision
of the Streets Committee _

C. Robinson brought up the petition of James Cowdey and
22 others asking for Park Street to be extended eastward from
Victoria Street to Albert Street _ Referred to the Committee on
Streets _

Ald: Gaskin from the Committee on Finance and accounts
brought up two reports (Numbers 612 & 613 Book F) which were
read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets to brought up
a report (Number 614 Book F) which was read and adopted

On Motion of Ald: MacIntyre seconded by Ald: McLeod
Ordered, that it be referred to the Committee on
Streets to report to this Council at an early day upon the advisability
of extending Westward Earl Street Brock Street and Mac Street
to the Western limits of the City or same intermediate permit

The Chairman from the Court of Revision brought up a
Report (Number 615 Book F) which was read and adopted.

The Chairman (PC) from the Committee on City Property brought
up a Report (616 Book F) which was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Wharves & Harbor
brought up a Report (Number 617 Book F) which was read [Strike Through]
[Strike Through].

Ald: Fenwick moves seconded by Ald: McLeod
that the report of the Committee on Wharves and
Harbor be received and adopted.

In Amendment
Ald: McIntyre moves seconded by Ald: Cruggan
that in view of the pressing need of the City Improvements
in the form of Street grading and side walks in the outlying
wards owing to the expansion of these localities this Council
does not deem it expedient at present to expend so large a
sum as that proposed. which being put was [underline]lost [/Underline]
