Ald: Hiscock from the Committee on the Park Re Amount required
for Parks brought up a Report which was read and referred to the
Finance Committee _

On Motion of Ald: W. Robinson seconded by Ald: Minnes
Ordered, that this Council grant the City Clerk
Michael Flanagan three months leave of absence to Visit
his native land or any other place he may choose _ and
that this Council engaga a man to fill his place and pay
him for the same and that this Council advance Mr Flanagan
his three Months salary before leaving that the Finance
Committee be requested to provide for the same

On Motion of Ald: Gildersleeve seconded by Ald: Shannon
Ordered, that the Mayor issue his proclamation requesting
the Citizens to observe the twenty fourth of May instant as a general Holiday_

On Motion the Council adjourned

The Clerk read the Minutes of the last Meeting

A Circular from Jacob Erratt Esquire Mayor of
Ottawa was read _ Re Municipal taxation exemptions
On Motion of Ald: Harty seconded by Ald: Gildersleeve
Ordered, that this Council authorise the City Clerk
to reply to the Circular of the Mayor of Ottawa and to
state that our Council is prepared ot co-operate with the
Council of Ottawa City encouraging a discussion
of proposed Amendments which may improve our Municipal
laws.
