Ald: Gaskin introduced A By Law to authorise the

Ald: Gaskin introduced a By Law to authorise the
construction of a Common sewer in part of Elm Street in the City
of Kingston, as a local improvement under the provisions of the
Municipal act in that behalf _ which was read a first time.
A Report of the City Engineer Re Construction of a
Common sewer in a part of Elm street Kingston was read

On Motion of Ald: Harty seconded by Ald: Minnes
Ordered that the Regular Meetings of this Council
stand adjourned until Monday 9th September next and that
in the meantime the Mayor be authorised to pay ordinary running
accounts when duly certified _ and Salaries as per Budget _ and
that the Committee on Markets be authorised to open Tenders and
complete lease for the Market Tolls for the next year

On Motion the Council adjourned.

A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day. Present
His Worship
Aldermen
Adams, Carson, Cruggan, Fenwick, Gaskin,
Hiscock, Minnes, Muckleston, Rees, Swift, Wilson

The Mayor stated the Meeting was called to consider
By Laws Re appointment of Trustees under the Napanee
Tamworth and Quebec Railway Company Bonus By Law
and to Amend certain By Laws therein mentioned

Ald: Gaskin introduced a By Law to appoint
Trustees under the By Law of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston passed on the seventh day of December 1888 and entitled
"A By Law to aid and assist the Napanee, Tamworth and Quebec
Railway Company by granting a Bonus thereto of Seventy five
thousand dollars for the purpose and upon the conditions
therein mentioned and contained _ which was read a first
time_ The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went into
Committee of the whole on the second reading _
