A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day, pursuant to adjournment
Present.

Harty, Hiscock, Minnes, Muckleston, McCammon
McIntyre, Polson, Rees, C. Robinson, W. Robinson
Shannon, Swift Wilson

Communications were read and referred as follows:-

From Henry Cunningham asking for a remission
of the rent of the City Hall on the occassion of Crossley & Hunters
meetings - Referred to the Committee on City Property.

From F.C. Ireland, City Treasurer stating the collectors
final return of uncollected taxes for the year 1888. was made and
his rolls were returned to him on the 4th Decr 1889-

From RT. Walkem and Henry Cunningham Trustees
$75000 Bonus Napanee Tamworth and Quebec R.R asking for
a committee to meet them on the subjects - Referred to the Committee
on Railroads

[margin] Ald. McIntyre left. [/margin] Ald. Gildersleeve chairman again brought up the Report of the Committee on Water Works (Number 657 Book F)

The Report was agreed to be taken up clause by clause.

After discussion on each of the clauses of the Report.

Ald. Gildersleeve moves seconded by Ald. Swift

That the report the Committee on Water Works be
received and adopted.

In amendments

Ald. Harty moves seconded by Ald. [insert] W. [/insert] Robinson

That the report of the Water Works Committee be amended
so as to provide that the amount which the City shall pay as rental
for Fire Hydrants be fixed at the rate of $20. each from and
after the first day of January 1890 and that the reduction of the rates
paid by Citizen consumers for water be made thirty percent from and
after the same date and that this resolution be considered concurrent
with the report of the Water Works Committee - which being put was
lost yeas 5 Nays 13.
