From Pierre Lamoureaux by Ald. Rees asking
that his brokers license be restored to him - Referred
to the Committee On Licenses

From Samuel Jenkins asking permission to
remove a frame house

On motion of Ald. Creeggan seconded by Ald. McCammon

Ordered, That the petition of Samuel Jenkins
be granted on the usual bonds being entered into.

From C.H. Powell and 11 others, by Ald. Creeggan
asking for the improvement of George street. Referred to
the Committee On Streets

From Wm B. Follest, by Ald. McIntyre - Re Taxes
Referred to the Court of Revision

Ald. Gaskin Chairman of the Special Committee Re
Street Railway brought up a Report (Number 674 Book F)
which was read - read before Nov 4th & 18th 1889.

On motion of Ald. Gaskin seconded by Ald. McIntyre

Ordered, That the report of Special Committee
consisting of Ald. Gaskin, City Engineer and City Solicitor
in connection with the dispute between the Corporation and
the Kingston Street Railway Company be received and adopted

Ald. Joseph F. Swift from the Committee On Water
Works brought up a Report (Number 675 Book F) which
was read and adopted.

On motion of Ald. McIntyre seconded by Ald. McCammon

Ordered, That the City Engineer report to this Council
at its next regular meeting a statement showing the defaults
made by the Electric Light Company under the contract with
the City which were reported to him or taken cognizance of
by him and the amounts deducted in respect of the same
under said contract such statement to give full and
detailed particulars of the matters in question

On motion of Ald. Creeggan seconded by Ald. McCammon

Ordered, That the opinion of the City Solicitor be
obtained as to the legality of women holding the position
of House of Industry Inspectors.

Ald. Gaskin introduced a By Law to authorise the
construction of a common sewer in a part of John street in
the City of Kingston, as a local improvement, under the provisions
of "The Municipal Act" in that behalf which was read a first
time.

A Report from the City Engineer was read Re Local
Improvements John street read before April 25. 1889 -

The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council
went into Committee of the whole on the second reading
of the By Law
