A Special Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of
the City of Kingston was held this day Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Creeggan, Fenwick, Gaskin, C. Robinson
Machar, Minnes, Muckleston, McIntyre
Osborne, Shannon, Swift Joseph F., Thompson

The Mayor stated the Meeting was called to take
up general business
Communications were read, acted upon and referred as follows: _

From William Middleton Secretary Kingston Yacht
Club asking that the tax upon yachts be abolished
On Motion of Ald. Minnes seconded by Ald. Creeggan
Ordered, that all pleasure Yachts be exempt from taxes

Yeas the Mayor, Aldermen Creeggan, Fenwick
Gaskin, Machar, Minnes, Muckleston, McIntyre
Osborne, Shannon, Swift Jos. F., Thompson 12

Nay Ald. C. Robinson 1

From O. Gravelle asking for the sum of twenty two
dollars being the balance on Horses sold
December 31st 1889. Referred to the Finance Committee

From I.C. Swain asking for the opening up
of sixth street _ Referred to the Committee on streets

Petitions were presented and referred as
follows: _

from E. Veale and six others by Ald. Osborne
for the construction of a sewer in Albert Street
Referred to the Committee on Streets

From I.I. Behan and 4 others asking for a
water service on Markland street _ Referred to the
Committee on Water Works

On Motion of Ald. Osborne seconded by Ald. Thompson
Ordered, that the usual number of Directories
be purchased

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets
and Improvements brought up two reports (Numbers
748 & 749 Book F) which were read and adopted

A Communication was here read from James
Agnew City Solicitor Re names of streets as
changed by By Law

A circular from Education Department was
read _ Grant of High School for 1890 is $693.01

The Chairman from the Committee on Water Works
brought up a Report (Number 750 Book F) which was
read and adopted

On Motion of Ald. Jos. F. Swift seconded by Ald: Minnes
Ordered
