Ald. Gaskin from the Committee On Finance and
Accounts brought up a Report (Number 784 Book F) which
was read.

Ald. Gaskin moves seconded by Ald. Thompson

That the report of the Committee On Finance
and Accounts be received and adopted as amended

In amendment 1st
Ald. Shannon moves seconded by Ald. Minnes

That the report of the Finance Committee be amended
by striking out the words "employing 25 hands and upwards
in the paragraph relating to exemptions from taxation

In amendment 2nd

Ald. Thompson moves seconded by Ald. McCammon

That the report of the Committee On Finance and
Accounts be amended so that the form of ballot to be
handed the electors to vote on will read "Are you in favor
of exempting all manufacturers from taxation as to building
and machinery, the land only to be assessed at its value"

In amendment 3rd

Ald. Machar moves seconded by Ald. Osborne

That the report be amended by submitting to the
vote of the Electors at the same time the question of exempting
every dwelling house to the amount of $400.00 of the
value of the building only and that the Ballot add these
words "and dwellings to the amount of $400.00" - which being
put was lost
