Ald: Muckleston moves seconded by Ald: Redden
that the report of the Water Works Committee be
received and adopted

In Amendment
Ald: Gaskin moves seconded by Ald: C. Robinson
That in view of the fact that it appears that Mr
Rosseau has made a Mistake by omitting the Crib which
he estimated at $1000. in putting in his tenders and that as
his tender is considered most favorable to the City and that
as his sureties are first class the report of the Water Works
Committee be Amended and the Contract given to Mr Rosseau
at $9.235.00 thus allowing him $500.00 towards rectifying his
mistake of $1000.00 _ which being put was carried and the
Report was adopted as Amended

On Motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald: Muckleston
Ordered, that an investigation be held to ascertain
by whom the figures of the tenders for the suction pipe were
made public although said figures were only known to the Members
of the Water Works Committee and City Officials present at a
private Meeting of the Water Works Committee held in the Engineers
office on Friday the 9th instant and as it was deemed
advisable in the interest of the City that said figures should be
kept private _ and all present made a promise that the proceedings
of the Committee should not be mentioned outside _ and that
the Mayor be authorised to proceed with said investigation

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water and
Light brought up a Report (Number 799 Book F) which
was read and adopted

On Motion of Ald: W. Robinson seconded by Ald: Redden
Ordered, that Mayor Drennan receive $800. the
amount appropriated in the Budget for him

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property brought
up a Report (Number 800 Book F) which was read and
adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Licenses
brought up a Report (Number 801 Book F) which was read
and adopted

On Motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald: James Swift
Ordered, that that part of the report of the Finance Committee
dated the 13th December 1890 adopted by this Council on the 15th
December 1890 recommending that Mr Thomas Moore be accepted in
Mr McKelveys stead as one of the tax collectors sureties be reconsidered_

On Motion of Ald: Gaskin seconded by Ald James Swift
Ordered, that that part of the report of the Finance Committee
dated the 13th day of December 1890 adopted by this Council on the
15th December 1890 recommending that Mr Thomas Moore be accepted
in Mr McKelveys stead as one of the tax collectors sureties be cancelled
and repealed

Ald: Gaskin introduced a By Law to repeal a By Law
passed
