That the Engineer be instructed to advertise for the usual yearly supplies for the streets department and to write for quotations for the necessary Water Works supplies for the coming season - which being put was lost.

A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston was held this day. Present:

Aldermen:
Carson, Cliff, Dunlop, Elliott, Gaskin, Hardy, Herald, LaChance, Livingston, Martin, Muckleston, McCammon, McIntyre, McLeod, Polson, Rees, Skinner, Steacy, Swift, Thompson, Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting.
A Writ was here submitted and read . Re Watt vs City of Kingston which was referred to the City Solicitor and City Engineering with the Committee on Streets .

A communication from James Agnew City Solicitor was read submitting a bill which was introduced into the Legislative Assembly - Re Kingston Light Company and Kingston Electric Light Company.
Ald: Gaskin moves moves, seconded by Ald. Thompson
That the following Aldermen be a special committee to confer with the City Solicitor and decide what action should be taken in connection with a Bill now before the Legislature of Ontario in connection with the Amalgamation of the Gas Light Company and the Electric Light Company - Aldn Gaskin, McIntyre, McCammon, Swift, Skinner, Polson and Rees.

Ald: Hardy, moves seconded by Ald. Polson
That the motion of Ald. Gaskin be postponed until the Special Committee to strike the standing committees be appointed which being put was carried and the original motion was lost.
