A Special Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston was held this day. Present:

Carson, Cliff, Dunlop, Elliott, Gaskin, Hardy, Herald, LaChance, Livingston, Martin, Muckleston, McCammon, McIntyre, McLeod, Polson, Rees, Skinner, Steacy, Swift, Thompson, Wilson

The Mayor stated the meeting was called to take up general business
Communications were read and referred as follows:

From Municipal Miscellany Arnprior, Ontario Re Municipal Laws - Referred to the Finance Committee.
From W.P. Despard - Re: Electric Light - referred to the Committee on Fire Water and Light
From the Alert Fire Co. asking for a remission of the rent of City Hall on the occasion of their assembly - Referred to the Committee on City Property.
From George Thompson Collector of Taxes - Re taxes collected to date - referred to the Committe on Finance and Accounts.
From McIntyre and McIntyre Barristers for Mary Ann Watts claiming damages - Referred to the Committe on Streets.
From John M. Whinton applying for the position of Inspecting Plumber - referred to the Board of Health.
