The Council resumed
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported
the second reading of the By Law clause by clause
The report was received.
The By Law was read a third time and passed.

On Motion of Ald Elliott seconded by Ald Martin
Ordered, That the Finance Committee be
requested to provide the sum of Twelve dollars to
purchase an instrument to properly test milk supplied
in the City

On motion the Council adjourned

Carson, Cliff, Dunlop, Elliott, Gaskin,
Hardy, Herald, LaChance, Livingston,
Martin, Muckleston, McCamman, McIntyre,
McLeod, Polson, Rees, Steacy, Swift, Wright,
Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting

Ald Gaskin here left the Council Chamber

Communications were read and referred as
follows:-

From William Glidden and 12 others against
street watering - Referred to Committe on Streets &c

From William Jarrell asking for the appointment
of City Scavenger - Referred to Market Committee

From Robert Reeve and John P Treneer asking
to be appointed General Scavenger - Referred to the
Committee on City Property

From the Jenkes Manufacturing Company asking
what inducements the City would offer for locating here &c

On motion of Ald Polson seconded by Ald Wilson
Ordered, Whereas the exemption from taxation
enjoyed by several firms for some years past expire
during the course of a year or two. And whereas such
exemptions involve a loss of revenue each year Amounting
to
