A Special Meeting of the Council of the Corporation
of the City of Kingston was held this day Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Carson, Cliff, Dunlop, Elliott, Gaskin, Hardy,
Herald, LaChance, Livingston, Martin, Muckleston,
McCamman, McIntyre, McLeod, Polson, Rees,
Skinner, Steacy, Swift, Wright

The Mayor stated the meeting was called to consider
a budget and to take up general business.

Communications were read and referred as follows

From Messrs Kirkpatrick and Rogers Solicitors for
the Board of the Kingston Collegiate Institute stating the
Board requires $20 000 for the purpose of erecting new buildings
Referred to the Finance Committee

From Noah L Piper & Son - Re Street Gates. Referred
to the Committee on Streets &c

From the Hon. G.A. Kirkpatrick M.P. - Re Smith Falls
Railway Bill - Referred to Committee on Railways &c

The Agreement Between the Board of Trustees of
Wesley Church and the Corporation of the City of Kingston
was read relative to the purchase of the Church by the
City

Petitions were presented and referred as follows-

From W.K. Routley and others by Ald Carson for a
sewer on Ordnance street - Referred to the Committee
on Streets

From John M Machar and others by Ald McIntyre read
before May 4th 1891 for Local Improvement sever on Albert
street North - Referred to the Committee on Streets &c

From N Wilmot and others by Ald Carson Re sidewalk
on North side of Ordnance street West of Sydenham street
Referred to the Committee on Streets &c

From N. Wilmot and others asking for a Board Walk
outside boulevard on East side of Clergy street between
Colborne and Ordnance streets, by Ald Carson. Referred to
the Committee on Streets

On motion of Ald McCamman seconded by Ald Elliott
Ordered, That the City Engineers be instructed to call
for tenders for the Fire station on Ontario street at present
occupied by the City Fire Department on usual conditions
and report.

Ald Swift from the Committee on Finance and
accounts brought up a Report (Number 831 Book F) which
was read.

In amendment to report
Ald McIntyre moves seconded by Ald Carson
that the sum of $3000 for teh remodelling of the
City
