That at the Elections in January next the following
question be submitted to all Municipal Electors "Are you
in favor of the total or partial exempting from taxation
of manufacturing industries _

That in order to find the mind of the people
on exemption that three first questions regarding exemption
as proposed by the report just read be submitted to the
Electors at the same time as the School By Law _ which
being put was lost as was also the original motion

On Motion of Ald. Hardy seconded Ald. Gaskin
Ordered, that this Council petition the Local
Legislature to so amend the Municipal Act, as to prevent
Municipalities from granting exemption to any person
firm or Company and that a Copy of this resolution and
of the petition be forwarded to all Municipal Councils
in Ontario asking their co-operation in forwarding the
object of said petition, by signing petition or sending one
on
