A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day. Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Behan, Carson, Creeggan, Curtis, Dunlop,
Elliott, Fair, Gaskin, Hardy, Livingston,
Meek, McLeod, Oberndorffer, Polson, Ryan,
Skinner, Wilson, Wright

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting.

Communications were read and referred as follows:-

From Walkem & Walkem Re Taxes. Referred to the Finance
Committee

From John Simpson Secretary Board of Health Township
of Kingston complaining of City Nuisance Ground on McCallum
Farm - Referred to the Local Board of Health

From the Municipal World St Thomas Ont - Referred to
the Committee on Finance &c

From the Cataraqui Bridge Co statement - fyled.

From George Thompson, Collector of Taxes - Re Moneys
collected to Jany 25th. Feby 8th and to February 22nd. Referred
to the Finance Committee

From Ashley & Ryder asking the privilege to place a
steam Engine on the premises of Mr Bates Corner of Princess
and Gordon streets - Referred to the Committee on Finance &c

From George Newlands and 8 others objecting to
the placing of a Steam Engine on the premises of Mr Bates Corner of Princess
and Gordon Streets - Referred to the Committee on Finance &c

From the Canadian Contract Record, calling the attention
to the contemplated change in the paper. fyled.

From W.L. Gordon enclosing Agreement of A.M.
Vineberg et al. Re Transient Traders &c

Ald Hardy moves seconded by Ald Livingston
That the petition of A Vineberg be not
received and that the City Solicitor be authorised to
collect the Transient Traders license fee

In amendment
Ald Polson moves seconded by Ald Oberndorffer
That the Communication of A. Vineberg be
referred to the Finance Committee which being put was
