Ald Creeggan brought up the petition of John E. Jones
asking for a Pawnbrokers License for a period of six months
Referred to the Committee on Licenses

Ald: Creeggan from the Committee on Finance and
accounts brought up two Reports (Numbers 924 & 925 Book G)
which were read and adopted

Ald. Dunlop from the Committee on Streets and Improvements
brought up a Report (Number 926 Book G) which was read
and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water and Light
brought up a Report (Number 927 Book G) which was read

Ald Robinson moves seconded by Ald Carson
That the report of the Committee on Fire, Water and Light
be received and adopted

In amendment
Ald Ryan moves seconded by Ald Elliott
That report of first meeting as read by Mr Bolger
be incorporated in the report of the Committee on Fire, Water and
Light - which being put was [underline]Carried[/underline] and the Report was
adopted as amended

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property brought
up a Report (Number 928 Book G) which was read and
adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Parks brought up
a Report (Number 929 Book G) which was read and
adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Printing brought
up a Report (Number 930 Book G) which was read and
adopted.

On motion of Ald. Curtis seconded by Ald: Meek
Ordered, That a special Committee be appointed to take
into consideration whether it will not be to the interest of the
City of Kingston that all prisoners that are sentenced to hard
labor in the Gaol, should be put at breaking stones or other
remunerative work outside the Prison walls

2nd Whether it would be to the interest of this City to have
a reconsideration of which the County of Frontenac receives in
compensation for the use of the Gaol &c

3rd And, whether it would not be to the interest of the City to
have its own Lock-up House of Correction Gaol or place of
confinement - The Committee to be composed of Aldermen
Behan, Gaskin, Livingston, and the mover and seconder

On motion of Ald Meek seconded by Ald: Elliott
Ordered that the 31st Rule be suspended in order that
certain
