Ald. Elliott moves seconded by Ald. Drennan
That a Special Committee consisting of the mover
and seconder and Aldermen Polson, Herald, and Curtis be
appointed to lay before this Council as soon as practical in
proper form such form of By Laws as will be necessary for
the licensing of Plumbers and for the Regulations of all sanitary
appliances to be erected in the City and for the appointing of
a practical sanitary Inspector

In amendment 1st
Ald Fair moves seconded by Ald. Meek
That whereas the sanitary condition of this city is not
what it should be and that it is absolutely necessary that some
improvement be made if possible, and whereas the solution of
the question would be difficult owing to the widely diversified
opinions of even intelligent men on the subject. We deem it
advisable to have the opinion of experts on this important matter

Be it therefore resolved that this Council invite Mr Willis
Chipman Consulting Engineer of the Town of Brockville and Dr
V.H. Moore of the same place late Sewer Commissioner of the Town
to act in conjunction with City Engineers to address a special Meeting
of this Council on the subject.

In amendment 2nd
Ald: Ryan moves seconded by Ald Oberndorffers
That this Council appoint a Committee consisting of
Hon Dr. Sullivan, Dr Saunders and Major Mayne to inquire into the
sanitary conditions of the City and to recommend the best means
of remedying its defects.

In amendment 3rd
Ald. Livingston moves seconded by Ald McLeod
That the question of the sanitation of the City be referred
to the Streets Committee.

In amendment 4th
Ald Carson moves seconded by Ald: Behan
That the previous question be now put - which was
