A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship the Mayor

Aldermen
Carson, Creeggan, Curtis, Drennan, Dunlop, Elliott,
Fair, Gaskin, Livingston, Meek, McLeod, Oberndorffer,
Polson, Robinson, Ryan, Wright

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting.

Communications were read and referred as follows: -

From the Mayor and Aldermen City of Victoria presenting
Victoria Illustrated - to be fyled and acknowledged.

From J.R Wilson Esquire, Montreal Surety for Mr Rousseau
Re Contract for laying water pipe and wishing to avoid litigation
Referred to the Committee on Water Works.

From Wilson R. Butcher recommending the Smith Premier
Type Writer - Referred to the Committee on Finance &c.

From Henry A Wilton - Statute Labor Taxes - Referred
to the Court of Revision.

From Patrick Clark refusing to give up stall in Shambles
without legal notice - Referred to the Committee on City Property.

From N.F. Dupuis Esquire Chairman Kingston Collegiate
Institute making application for the sum of Four Thousand
dollars to defray the expense of maintaining the School for the
current year and enclosing statement of estimated receipts and
expenditures for the year - also for the sum of twenty five
thousand dollars with which to erect a new building for Collegiate
Institute purposes and asking for a conference with the Finance
Committee or School Committee or both. Referred to the Committee
on Finance and Schools.

From D. Jamieson complaining of his cellar being flooded
with water - Referred to the Committee on Streets

From Jonas T. Catlin respecting taxes - Referred to the
Court of Revision

From B.M. Britton Esquire Re Pruning Trees and asking
compensation for land taken from his property Montreal Street.
Referred to the Committee on Streets.

From J. Hewton complaining of the comtemplated erection
of bathing houses in front of his dwelling King Street - Referred to
the Committee on Wharves &c

From George T. Fenwick Esquire - asking for the remission of
the rent of the City Hall on the occasion of a benefit to the
General Hospital by the Ladies of Chalmers Church - Referred
to the Committee on City Property.

From C. Lewis for permission to empty Privy pots and Cesspools
according to law. Referred to the City Commissioner.

From Antoine Haaz Re: Taxes - Referred to the Court of
Revision
