A Special Meeting of the Council of the Corporation
of the City of Kingston was held this day to take
up general business. Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Behan, Carson, Curtis, Dunlop, Fair, Gaskin,
Hardy, Herald, Meek, McLeod, Oberndorffer,
Polson, Robinson, Ryan, Wilson, Wright

On motion of Ald Polson seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, That this Council desires to place upon
record the sense of the loss sustained by the Country on
the death of the Honorable Alexander MacKenzie late Prime
Minister of Canada

The members of this Corporation recall the time when
he was a resident of Kingston he set about his occupation
as a stone mason, and at the same time laid the foundation
of his long and useful public career

The noble qualities of character so signally exhibited
in every stage of the notable career of the deceased statesman
his loyalty to truth, and to the principles of liberalism of
which
