On motion of Ald. Robinson seconded by Ald Carson.
Ordered, that the prayer of the petition of Robert Carson
and others be granted.

From Charles F. Barber - by Ald Gaskin, asking the
privilege of draining into Dufferin Street drain. Referred to
the Committee on Streets &c.

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets & Improvements
brought up a Report (Number 953-1/2 Book G) which was
read.

Ald Gaskin moves, seconded by Ald Creeggan
That the report of the Committee on Streets and
Improvments be received and adopted.

In amendment
Ald Herald moves seconded by Ald Meek
That the report of the Committee on Streets be amended
by striking out in the clause referring to the petition of John
Percy and others, all after the words "on Gore Street be" and
the word "Granted" inserted instead thereof - which being
put was lost and the original motion being put was carried.

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property
brought up a Report (Number 954 Book G) which was
read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Wharves and
Harbor brought up a Report (Number 955 Book G) which
was read and adopted.

Ald Gaskin from the Select Committee on the Belt
line Railway Bill and others matters brought up a Report
(Number 956 Book G) which was read.

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Creeggan.
Ordered, that the report of the Select Committee that
went to Ottawa to oppose the Belt line and for other
purposes be received and adopted, and that the thanks
of this Council are hereby tendered to the Honorable
Senator Sullivan and Mr James M Metcalfe M.P. for the
assistance they rendered the deputation.

That this Council do now adjourn which being put was lost.

Ald Creeggan from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts asked permission of the Council to introduce
Reports (Numbers 957 & 958 Book G) owing to their not
being signed by a majority of the Committee. Permission
was granted the rates 32 & 33 bearing on the Case being suspended
as to same - and the reports were read and adopted.

Ald Gaskin introduced By Law No 414 entitled
