The Chairman from the Committee on Streets & Improvements
brought up a Report (Number 980 Book G) which
was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water and Light
brought up a Report (Number 981 Book G) which was
read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property
brought up a Report (Number 982 Book G) which was
read and adopted.

Ald Herald introduced A By Law No 436 entitled
A By Law to authorize the Mayor and the City Treasurer to
borrow twenty thousand dollars until the taxes levied therefor
can be collected which was read a first time.
The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went
into Committee of the Whole on the second reading.

The Council resumed
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause. The Report was received.
The 30th Rule wsa again suspended and the By Law
was read a third time and passed.

Ald Herald introduced A By Law No 437 entitled
"A By Law to consolidate the several amounts for which local
improvement debentures are authorized to be issued by By Laws
numbered 419, 432, 421, 422, 423, 424, 425, 426, 427, 428 of the
Corporation of the City of Kingston in one amount and to issue
debentures for said amount in place of the debentures authorized
to be issued by the said By Laws for the said several amounts
less the amount thereof commuted" which was read a first
time.
The 30 rule was suspended and the Council went
into Committee of the Whole on the second reading.

The Council resumed.
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause. The Report was
received.
The 30th Rule was again suspended and the By Law
was read a third time and passed.
On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Drennan.
Ordered, that when this Council adjourn tonight it remain
adjourned until the first regular meeting in September next
and that the Mayor have power to pay all salaries, pay lists and
contract work signed by the proper Chairman.
