Ald Elliott moves seconded by Ald Dunlop.
That the report of the Water Works Committee be
adopted.

In amendment
Ald Polson moves seconded by Ald Behan
That the report of the Committee on Water Works
be amended by adding the following to the clause dealing
with the Construction of the pipe viz Price for same be
Forty six hundred and fifty dollars - which being put
was carried and the original motion being put was
carried as amended.

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water
and Light brought up a Report (Number 996 Book G)
which was read.

Ald Robinson moves seconded by Ald Fair
That the Committee on Fire, Water and Light be
received and adopted.

In amendment
Ald Behan moves seconded by Ald Curtis
That the report of the Committee be amended
by striking out the clause re petition for an electric light
on market square and the following be substituted therefor
that the prayer of the petitioners for an Electric Light on
Market square be granted and that the Finance Committee
provide funds for the same which being put was
lost and the original motion was carried.

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property
brought up a Report (Number 997 Book G) which was
read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Parks brought
up a Report (Number 998 Book G) which was read and
adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Banking
brought up a Report (Number 999 Book G) which was
read and adopted.

Ald Hardy introduced By Law No 442 entitled
"A By Law to amend the By Law entitled "A By Law to consoldiate
and amend the By Laws of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston and to repeal certain By Laws" passed Monday November
26th 1883 and to appoint a Pound Keeper which was read a first
time.

The 30th Rule of Council was suspended and the Council
went into Committee of the Whole on the second reading.
Ald Robinson in the Chair
The Council resumed.
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause. The Report was received.
The 30 Rule was again suspended and the By Law
was read a third time and passed.
