A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston
held this day. Present

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen:
Behan, Carson, Curtis, Drennan, Dunlop,
Elliott, Fair, Herald, Livingston, Meek,
Polson, Robinson, Ryan, Wilson,
Wright

The Clerk read the minutes of the last two meetings.

Communications were read and referred as follows:

From Thomas Keats Re: street sprinkling. Referred
to the Committee on Streets.

From Walkem and Walkem Re: Electric Street
Railway and referring to papers served on B.F. Folger
as representing the Railway. Referred to the Committee on
Streets.

From Noah L. Piper & Son calling attention of the
Council to its Railway supplies - fyled.

From Dr. S.J. Barnardo calling attention to his home
for orphans. Fyled.

From Walkem and Walkem Barristers claiming damages
$81.50 for alleged negligence - Referred to Committee on
Streets &c.

From John McIntyre, Barrister claiming $96 damage
in behalf of Alfred Blakie for sheep killed and injured by
dogs. Referred to the Committe on Finance &c.

From N.F. Dupuis Chairman Board of Trustees Collegiate
Institute the Council to reconsider its former position and grant
the remainder of the $4000 asked for. Referred to the Committee
on Finance &c

From J.G.R. McCann, Secy Kingston Collegiate Institute
reminding Council of appointment of Trustees in place of
the retiring ones, the Hon M Sullivan and Dr E.H. Smythe.
Fyled.

From George Thompson, Collector of Taxes - Taxes collected
to date. Referred to the Committee on Finance &c.

From Peter H. Bryce and Harry E. Vaux , Committee
Provincial Board of Health - Re: Report Thomas A. Bolger
City Engineer - Kingston system of sewage.

On motion of Ald Herald seconded by Ald Drennan
That whereas the Report of Engineer Bolger on the
best method of Collecting and disposing of the sewage of this
City was by this Council referred to the Provincial Board of Health
for approval:

And whereas the Committee of the Provincial Board
of Health to whom the report was referred for investigation have
reported approving the scheme of Engineer Bolger.
Therefore be it resolved; - that this Council do now
adopt
