The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went
into Committee of the whole on the second reading.
Ald Curtis in the Chair.
The Council resumed.
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause. The Report
was received.

On motion the Council adjourned.

of Kingston was held this day. Present:

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting.

Communications were read and referred as follows:

From Dominion Alliance enclosing petition Re: Suppression
of Liquor Traffic. Referred to the Committee on Licenses.

From Wm Ritchie Chaplain Salvation Army proposing
to furnish street sign boards &c at a certain figure. Referred
to the Committee on Streets &c

From David J Vallier County Clerk Co. of Frontenac
enclosing resolution of County Council appointing Committee
to act in conjunction with Committee appointed by the Frontenac
Farmers Institute. Re: City Market By Law. Referred to the
Committee on Markets to confer with County Council Committee.

From George Thompson, Collector of Taxes showing taxes
collected to date. Referred to the Finance Committee.

From Messrs Brick and Booth offering $75.00 per
year for Water Works. Referred to the Committee on
Water Works.

From Richard T. Walkem, Chairman Local Board
of Health urging upon the Council the necessity of securing a
supply of pure water at as early a date as possible &c Referred
to the Committee on Water Works.

From I.J. Craig, Agent offering to keep the streets in repair
from sidewalk to sidewalk on that portion of the street or streets in
which tracks are laid, in consideration of a perpetual franchise.
