From A Rousseau stating pipe will be ready for
official test on Wednesday 8th instant. Referred to the
Committee on Water Works.

Ald McKelvey brought up the petition of the Governor
of the School of Mining and Agriculture at Kingston
asking for the Citys Contribution towards the establishment
of a School of Practical Science at Kingston and suggesting that
in view of the advantages to be derived by the City from the
establishment of the School its contribution must be the first
and longest. Referred to the Committee on Finance &c

Ald Herald from the Committee on Finance and
accounts brought up Reports (Numbers 1037 & 1038 Book G)
which were read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets &c brought
up a Report (Number 1039 Book G) which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Water Works
brought up a Report (Number 1040 Book G) which was read and
adopted.

The Chairman from the Court of Revision brought up
a Report (Number 1041 Book G) which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Printing brought
up a Report (Number 1042 Book G) which was read and adopted.

Ald Behan here entered.

On motion of Ald McKelvey seconded by Ald Meek
Ordered, That the Council go into Committee of the Whole
in the consideration of the Budget
The Council went into Committee of the Whole accordingly.
Ald Elliott in the Chair.
The prayer submitted Reported No 1043 of the Finance Committee
showing estimated Revenue and expenditure of the Corporation
of the City of Kingston for the year 1893
The Council resumed.
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the following
resolutions carried in the Committee of the Whole.

On motion of Ald Meek submitted by Ald Hardy
Whereas the Board of Health has decided that an
assistant must be appointed to the Sanitary staff in the
interest of that perfect cleanliness of the City which is essential,
anticipating an attack of Cholera. Be it resolved

1. That William McCammon at present acting Clerk of
the Market and harbormaster be appointed to perform the
duties of Assistant to the City Commissioner without increase in
salary.

2. that when not engaged upon the Market shall be
under the special direction of Mr. Gordon who shall give him assignments
and see that they are efficiently carried into effect.

3. that once a month a summary of the work accomplished
respectively
