Monday 8 o'Clock P.M.
Kingston April 24th 1893

A Special Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day. Present:

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen:
Behan, Bowes, Carson, Curtis, Elliott, Gaskin, Hardy,
Herald, Horn, Meek, Mundell, McIntyre, McKelvey,
McLeod, C Robinson, W Robinson, Ryan, Skinner,
Wilson, Wright

The Mayor dated the Meeting to receive the Report of
the Special Committee on Street Railway extension and to
consider Street Railway matters.

The Council consented to take up the following
communications:

From James Agnew City Solicitor Re: Costs Kingston
vs Rousseau and Bills before the House. Fyled.

From T Hyman asking for a refund of $20.00
Hawkers License.

Ald Hardy moves seconded by Ald Herald
That the prayer of Mr. Hyman's petition
be granted which being put was lost.
Yeas: The Mayor, Aldmn Hardy, Herald, Horn, McIntyre,
McKelvey, McLeod, Skinner, Wright - 9
Nays: Aldmn Behan, Carson, Curtis, Elliott, Gaskin,
Meek, Mundell, C Robinson, W Robinson,
Wilson - 10

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Mundell
Ordered, That the petition of T Hyman in reference
to License be referred to the Committee on Licenses with
power to act.

Ald McKelvey brought up the Report of the
Special Committee on Street Railway Extension
(Number 1061 Book G) which was read.

Ald McKelvey moves seconded by Ald McIntyre
That the report of the Special Committee on
Street Railway extension be received and adopted.

In amendment
Ald Mundell moves seconded by Ald C Robinson
That the new Electric Street Railway Company
put down the track at their own expense subject to the
supervision of the City Engineer and that all future repairs
necessitating the replacement of the ties be at the Citsy expense.

That the said Company keep the roadbed between the rails
in proper repair, also subject to the supervision of the Engineer
or any other officer appointed by the Council.

That the said Company be liable for any accidents arising
from the said Railway or the condition thereof.

And that during the first 40 years no changes other than the
above mentioned repairs and the usual taxes. Ruled out of order
