A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day. Present:

Aldermen:
Behan, Bowes, Carson, Curtis, Elliott, Gaskin, Hardy,
Horn, Meek, Mundell, McIntyre, McKelvey, McLeod,
C Robinson, W Robinson, Ryan, Skinner, Wilson, Wright

The Clerk read the minutes of the two last meetings.

Communications were read and referred as follows:

From W.H. Cotton Lt Colonel - Re old burying ground. Referred
to Committee on Parks

From W.H. Godwin Secretary Decoration Committee asking
Council to declare a half holiday on the 21st day of June.

On motion of Ald Elliott seconded by Ald C Robinson
Ordered, That the petition of the Benevolent societies
be granted.

From George Thompson Collector of Taxes. Taxes collected
to date. Referred to the Finance Committee.

From J. Diffries & Son Re: Illuminations - fyled.

From J.E. Cross Re: Type Writing

n motion of Ald Meek seconded by Ald Curtis
Ordered that the Communication of J.E. Cross be referred
to the Printing Committee so that it may consult the Chairman
of the Council Committees and heads of departments in the use
of a typewriter.
