the Comittee on Streets and Improvements.

From John Donnelly Jr and 24 others by Ald Horn
asking for a sewer to be constructed on Collingwood
street from Johnson street to the Waters edge as a local
improvement. Referred to the Committee on Streets &c

From C.H. Martin and ten others by Ald Hardy requesting
that a new six inch main be put in Brock street instead of repairing the
old pipe - left over for the present.

Ald Herald from the Committee on Finance and Accounts
brought up reports (Numbers 1078 and 1079 Book G) which
were read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets and
Improvements submitted a Report from the City Engineer
Bolger showing expenditure to date.

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald McIntyre.
Ordered, That the report of the City Engineer be
referred to the City Engineers Office and placed on fyle for
inspection by any of the Aldermen.

The Chairman from the Committee on Water Works
brought up a Report (Number 1080 Book G) which was
read.

Ald Elliott moves seconded by Ald Ryan
That the report of the Committee on Water Works be
received and adopted.

In amendment
Ald Hardy moves seconded by Ald Meek
That the Water Works Committee be amended
by striking out the word "relaid" in the last clause and
inserting in its place the words a new main be laid which
being put was carried and the original motion being put
as amended was carried.

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water and
Light brought up a Report (Number 1081 Book G) which
was read and adopted.

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Herald
Ordered, That inasmuch as Dominion Day falls this
year on Saturday, His Worship the Mayor be authorized to
proclaim Monday 3rd July a public holiday and day of rejoicing
in lieu of the previous Saturday.
