Monday 8 o'Clock P.M.
Kingston July 10th 1893

A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston
was held this day. Present:

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen:
Bowes, Carson, Curtis, Hardy, Horn, Meek, Mundell,
McAulay, McIntyre, McKelvey, W Robinson, Ryan,
Skinner, Wilson, Wright

The Mayor administered the declarations of qualification
and of office to Thomas McAuley elected alderman for Saint
Lawrence Ward in the norm of William J Arneil resigned.

Ald McAulay took his seat at the Council Board.

The Clerk read the minutes of the two last meetings.

Delegates from the Midland Central Show attended
the Council asking for a grant.
Mr A.C. Shaw on behalf of the delegation addressed
the Council.

On motion of Ald McKelvey seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That in the opinion of this Council a grant
of $300 should be made to the Midland Central Fair Association
and the Finance Committee be requested to provide funds
for the amount named.

Communications were read and referred as follows:

From Walkem and Walkem Barristers &c
claiming $500 for Mrs. Ellen Casey complaining of injury.
Referred to the Committee on Streets &c

From George Thompson Collector of Taxes Re: Taxes
collected to date. Referred to Committee on Finance &c

From W.H. Irwin & Co Directory - H Vernon
Manager. Referred to the Committee on Printing to act.

From Mrs Mary Cornwall and others respecting
taxes. Referred to the Court of Revision.

Petitions were read and referred as follows:

From E. McFadden by Ald Carson asking for a
rebate on Carters Licenses. Referred to the Committee on
Licenses.

From George Osborne and 2 others by Ald W Robinson
enclosing charge of $6.00 for Hall on the occasion of the Dalton
McCarthy meeting and asking for a refund of the same.

A. W Robinson moves seconded by Ald Wilson
That the prayer of the petitioners be granted.
The Mayor ruled this resolution out of order and referred
petition to the Committee on City Property to report.

Ald McIntyre from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts brought up Reports (Numbers 1089, 1090, 1091 and
1092 Book G) which were read.

Ald McIntyre moves seconded by Ald Curtis
That the Reports of the Committee on Finance and
Accounts
