Ald McKelvey moves seconded by Ald Skinner
That a By Law be submitted to the rate payers
as soon as possible to raise by way of loan the additional
amount required for the opening up of Sydenham Street
and the report before the Council be so amended which
being put was carried and the original motion was
carried as amended.

The Chairman on the Committee on Streets &c
brought up a Report (Number 1093 Book G) and submitted
Report of City Engineer Re outlet to James Street drain
also other Reports from T.O. Bolger City Engineer Re:
petitions property owners Princess and Brock streets for the
construction of Artificial stone walks under the provisions
of the consolidated Municipal Act with statements &c
and also a statement of the Expenditure on Streets &c
made by City Engineer up to July 6th 1893.

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald Hardy
Ordered, That the report of the Committee on Streets
and Improavements be received and adopted and that the
City Engineers report and sketch of the James Street drain
be referred to the Finance Committee and the Engineers monthly
statement be referred back to his office.

Ald Elliott here entered.

The Chairman from the Committee on Water Works brought
up a Report (Number 1094 Book G) which was read and
adopted.

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Bowes
Ordered, That a rebate of $14.00 be allowed out of
the amount of License victualling Houses as fixed by By Law sect 143
of consolidated By Laws, City of Kingston.

The Chairman from the Committee on Parks brought
up a Report (Number 1095 Book G) which was read.

On motion of Ald Curtis seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the Report of the Committee on Parks
be received and adopted and that a copy of the Report with
the Schedule annexed be forwarded forthwith to the Honorable
the Minister of Militia and Defence of Canada.

The Chairman from the Committee on Parks brought up
a Report (Number 1096 Book G) which was read.

On motion of Ald Curtis seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the name of Alderman
McAulay be substituted for that of Alderman Arniel
on all the standing Committees of this Council.

On motion of Ald McKelvay seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the regular meetings of this Council
stand adjourned until September 4th.
That the Treasurer be instructed to pay in the
