A copy of an agreement between the Corporation of the City of Kingston
and the Kingston, Portsmouth and Cataraqui Street Railway Company
was submitted and read.

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Herald.
That the Council go into Committee of the Whole on the report
and the same be taken up clause by clause which being put was
carried.
The Council went into Committee of the whole accordingly
Ald Behan in the Chair
The Council resumed
The Committee rose and the chairman reported that the words
"Council and" were added to the third clause of Report 1099 before
the word Engineer.
The report was received.

In amendment 1st to report
Ald Meek moves seconded by Ald Curtis
That the Streets Committee be requested to confer with the
President of the Canada Granolithic Company and the City Solicitor
with reference to the security given by the Company for the proper
performance of its work.

In amendment 2nd
Ald W. Robinson moves seconded by Ald Wilson
That the report of the Committee be referred back to the Committee
on Streets to report to this Council at its next meeting this night week.

In amendment 3rd
Ald Elliott moves seconded by Ald Mundell
That that part of the report referring to the agreement
presented to this Council be referred back to the City Solicitor
and Chairman of Streets to have proper securities attached for
the approval of this Council.

Ald Carson moves seconded by Ald Meek
That the report of the Committee on Streets and Improvements
as amended be received and adopted which being
put was carried. The 2 and 3rd amendments being put were lost.

The Yeas and Nays being taken on the 3rd amendment are as follows:
Yeas: The Mayor Aldermen: Elliott, Mundell, C Robinson - 4
Nays: Aldermen: McAulay, Behan, Carson, Curtis, Gaskin,
Hardy, Herald, Horn, Meek, W Robinson, Wilson, Wright - 12

The first amendment being put was carried.

On motion the Council adjourned.
