On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, That it is the desire of this Council that a Policeman
be placed to live within the district named in the petition of
J. Fallon and 56 others and that a copy of this resolution and the
petition be forwarded to the Police Commissioners at once.

On motion of Ald Meek seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That Rule 31 relating to the general order of
business of this Council be suspended and the the reading of the
consolidated by laws be taken up as the next order.
The 30th Rule of Council was suspended and the
Council went into Committee of the whole on the second readings
of the By Laws Nos 462, 463, 464, 465, 466, 467, 468 and 469 and entitled
respectively:

462 "A By Law respecting Wooden Buildings, Wooden Rough
Cast buildings, Wooden Metal protected Buildings and Wooden Buildings
Veneered and Brick"

463 "A By Law to appoint a Medical Health Officer and
a Sanitary Inspector for the City of Kingston"

464 "A By Law respecting the Fire Department and the
suppression of Fires"

465 "A By Law respecting the assessment of ground
used as a Paddock, Park, Lawn or pleasure ground"

466 "A By Law respecting Petroleum and other Illuminating
Oils and Fluids"

467 "A By Law respecting a Powder Magazine and the
storing of Gunpowder"

468 "A By Law respecing the sale of Mineral Coal"

469 "A By Law respecing the inspection of Milk and
other natural products offered for sale"

The Council resumed.
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
readings of the By Laws clause by clause. The Report was
received.
The Rule being suspended
The By Laws were read a third time and passed.

Ald Carson introduced "A By Law to authorize the
construction of an artificial stone side walk on a part of
Princess street in the City of Kingston as a Local Improvement
under the provisions of the Municipal Act and of the Act passed
at the last session of the Legislature of the Province of Ontario
entitled "An Act respecting Local Improvments in the
City
