Ald Carson introduced A By Law to authorize the construction of an
artificial stone side walk on a part of Barrie Street in the City of Kingston
as a Local Improvement under the provisions of the Municipal Act and of
the Act passed at the last session of the Legislature of the Province of Ontario
entitled "An Act respecting Local Improvements in the City of Kingston"
which was read a first time.
The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went into
the Committee of the Whole on the second reading.
Ald McAulay in the Chair
The Council resumed.
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second reading of the
By Law clause by clause. The Report was received.
The By Law was read a third time and passed.

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water and Light brought up
a Report Re purchase of the Hose for Fire Department.

On motion of the Ald Eliott seconded by Ald Meek
Ordered, That the report of the Committee on Fire, Water and Light
be laid over until next meeting of this Council and that Mr Strachan be
requested to submit recommendations for his hose.

The Chairman from the Committee on Printing brought up a
Report (Number 1124 Book G) which was read and adopted.

On motion of Ald Hardy seconded by Ald Elliott
Ordered, That a detailed statement of costs in the Rousseau suit
and also the costs of Sydenham Street be presented to Council.

On motion, the Council adjourned.
