Monday 8 o'Clock P.M.
Kingston November 13th 1893

A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston was held
this day. Present:

Aldermen McAulay, Behan, Carson, Curtis, Elliott, Hardy,
Herald, Horn, Meek, Mundell McIntyre, McKelvey,
C Robinson, W Robinson, Ryan, Wilson, Wright

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Wilson
Ordered, That Ald McKelvey take the Chair

The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved of.

Communications were read and referred as follows:

From George Thompson Collector of Taxes - Statement of Taxes received
to date. Fyled.

From George Worthington Re Rubber Hose

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Herald
Ordered, That the Communicaiton of the Toronto Rubber Company be
referred to the Committee on Fire, Water and Light.

From M.J. Brown Taxes Referred to the Court of Revision.

Petitions were presented and referred as follows:

From R.J. Carson by Ald Wright asking tha the area he
built on Barrie Street near Princess Street be allowed to remain. Referred to
the Committee on Streets to report.

From William Cullen and 13 others by Ald Wright asking
for a sewer on James Street from Patrick to Montreal street. Referred to the
Committee on Streets and the City Commissioner.

From Robert Gage in behalf of William Irving by Ald Curtis
asking that a proper drain be built in front of his house Clergy Street.

On motion of Ald Curtis seconded by Ald Wilson.
Ordered, That the communication of Mr Irving be referred to the
Committee on Streets with power to act.

From Wm Langdon by Ald Elliott Re: taxes - Referred to the
Court of Revision.

From W.G. Anglin by Ald Meek asking for a remission of the
rent of the City Hall for Mr Wendlings lecture - November 2nd. Referred
to the Committee on City Property.

Ald Meek introduced consolidated By Laws Nos. 480, 481,
482, 483, 484, 485, 486, and 487 which were read a first time.

On motion of Ald Meek seconded by Ald Elliott.
The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went into Committee
of the Whole on the second reading of the By Law No 480 entitled "A By Law
respecting Telegraph, Telephone and Electric Light Poles and Wires".
Ald Curtis in the Chair.
The Council resumed.
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause. The report was received.

The Council went into Committee of the Whole on the
Second reading of By Law No 481 entitled, "A By Law respecting Public
Morals"
