Kingston March 5th 1894

A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day. Present:

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen:
Allen, Carson, Curtis, Elliott, Gaskin, Horn,
Martin, Mundell, McIntyre, McKelvey, McMahon,
Richardson, G Robinson, W Robinson, Skinner,
Walkem, Wright

The Clerk read the minutes of the two last meetings.

Communications were read and referred as follows:

From Messrs Ford Bros Re: tax exemption on Tannery.
Referred to the Committee on Finance.

From W.S. Gordon Secretary Local Board of Health
asking for an appropriation of $600 for the years. Referred
to the Committee on Finance.

From Mr. Macdonald Secretary-Treasurer Public School
Board Re: re-arrangement of Water rates. Referred to the
Committee on Water Works.

From John Blevins, City Clerk Toronto for the abolition
of tax exemptions on Churches and Church Property. Referred to
the Committee on Finance.

From J.A. Breck Esquire asking for water supply for
house. Referred to Water Works.

From W.S. Gordon, City Commissioner asking for a
By Law to regulate the posting of Bills. Referred to the Committee
on Finance.

From George Thompson, Collector of Taxes showing taxes
collected to date. Referred to the Committee on Finance.

From E.W. Dowling asking for rebate on Billiard
License. Referred to the Committee on Finance &c

Petitions were presented and referred as follows:

From Richard Boyd by Ald Wright asking for an allowance
for loss alledged to be caused by curtailment of market.
Referred to the Committee on City Property.

From the Frontenac Law Association by Ald Mundell
enclosing petition to be submitted to the Ontario Legislature.

On motion of Ald Mundell seconded by Ald Walkem
Ordered, That the Mayor be authorized to sign the
petition presented by the Frontenac Law Association and
forward to the City Members for presentation to the Local Legislature

From W.H. Godwin by Ald Elliott asking for a
reduction of rent of City Hall on occasion of meetings.
Referred to the Committee on City Property.

Ald Gaskin from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts brought up two reports (Numbers 1158 & 1189 Book G) which
were read.

Ald Ryan, Behan and Hardy here entered.
