Taxes. Referred to the Court of Revision.

From James Agnew Esquire, City Solicitor was read
enclosing an amendment of the Municipal Act on the subject
of Boulevards, their construction in the public streets &c.

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald McIntyre.
Ordered, That the proposed amendment of the
Municipal Act now read be approved by this Council and
that the same be sent to Mr. Harty who is hereby requested
to take charge of the same in the House.

Ald McKelvey from the Committee on Finance and Accounts
brought up a Report (Number 1162 Book G) which was read
and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee Board of Works
brought up a Report (Number 1163 Book G) which was
read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee Board on City Property
brought up a Report (Number 1164 Book G) which was
read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Printing brought
up a Report (Number 1165 Book G) which was read and
adopted.

Ald McKelvey moves seconded by Ald Hardy
Whereas the population of the City of Kingston
has since the last distribution of seats by the Provincial
Legislature increased by 5137 persons and the population
of the County of Frontenac has decreased and as a re-arrangement
of seats is expected during the present session.

Resolved, That this Council respectfully memorialize
His Honor the Lieutenant Governor and the Legislature of
Ontario to replace the Township of Kingston in the riding of
Frontenac, such change being the desire of the people of that
Township as expressed by its Municipal Council and being
also agreeable to the wishes of Citizens of Kingston said
memorial be prepared by the Solicitor, sealed and signed
by the Mayor and forwarded at once to our Member Mr.
Harty for presentation.

In amendment
Ald Gaskin moves seconded by Ald Mundell
That after the words Township of Kingston
the words and the Village of Portsmouth be inserted which
being put was lost.

Nays: Aldermen: Carson, Elliott, Hardy, Horn, Martin,

The original motion being put was carried.
