Queen's University October 20th 1880

The Senate met and was constituted.

Sederunt Principal Grant, Proffesors Williamson,
Mowat, Dupuis, and Watson, and Messrs Nicholson
and Fowler Lecturers

The minutes of the meetings held 15th and
16th inst. were read and approved.

[margin] Wm. E. D'Argent[/margin]

A letter was read from Wm. E. D'Argent
requesting that he be allowed to graduate in passing
in ethics, chemistry and senior Greek. It is also
resolved that it is necessary for him to pass in
physics as well as in the aforementioned subjects

[margin] W. Spankie [/margin]

In compliance an application from
William Spankie the Senate agreed that he be
allowed to substitute senior physics for ethics as a
part of his graduating course, but the Greek and
instructued to intimate to him the Clerk was
instructed to intimate to him the judgment of
the Senate that as it is impossible for him to graduate
till next session it would be unwise for him
to take three ordinary classes and an honours class
this session.

[margin] H. M.Froiland [/margin]

In reference to an application from Herman
M. Froiland the Senate agreed that while
there is no objection to his taking the three classes
named by him this session, he must in order
to graduate take a fourth ordinary class or
an honours class, and that he cannot graduate
till next session.

[margin] R. G. Feek [/margin]

In reference to an application from R.
G. Feek the Clerk was instructed to inform
him that in order to graduate it will be
necessary for him to take two subjects in ad[dition]
