[ad]dition to those in which he has already passed,
viz any two of the following subjects - history,
Senior philosophy, junior physics, senior physics,
senior chemistry, and further that while there
is no objection to his taking junior Hebrew it
cannot be held as an Arts subject.

[margin]German class[/margin]

The Principal having intimated that five
students were desirous of studying German in
the College this session it was resolved that
a College class in German cannot be formed
no candidate having attempted the matriculation
examination in that language but that
if a class for teaching it is formed by Mr
Robertson or some other person in whom the
Senate has confidence, a room in the College
will be appropriated for the class.

The regulations for students prepared by
the Committee appointed to prepare them were
considered and passed.

The Senate met and was constituted.

Sederunt Principal Grant, Professors Williamson,
Mowat, Ferguson and Watson and Mr Nicholson,
Lecturer.

The minutes of the last meeting held 20th
inst. were read and approved.

[margin]Alex McLeod[/margin]

The Senate agreed to grant the request of
Alexander McLeod to be allowed to pass in the
Spring examination after partial attendance.

[margin]MC Cameron scholarship[/margin]

The MC Cameron scholarship was awarded
to John McLeod on the report of Dr Macarras
the Examiner

[margin]Chancellors Gold medal
Governor General's Prize[/margin]

It was decided that the Chancellor's gold medal
should not be given until session 1881-2, and
that the Governor General's prize should be awarded
to the student graduating this session who
makes the highest average in any three subjects
